Despite its global popularity, the state government failed to capitalize on this opportunity by not providing sufficient flights to Calabar. Instead, resources were allocated to the Ogoja Carnival and a state house in Ogoja, which many consider a misallocation of funds. The lack of flights led to sold-out situations as early as November, causing inconvenience to many attendees. COURT DECLARES SPECIAL ALLOWANCES LAW FOR FORMER GOV., DEP. GOV., SPEAKER, DEP. SPEAKER AS UNCONSTITUTIONAL. The Calabar Division of the Industrial Court has declared the Cross River State Special Allowances Law No. 2, 2023, for some Public Office Holders Law unconstitutional, invalid, null and void and of no effect whatsoever.
