This situation is particularly troubling, as it is unprecedented across the 18 local governments in Cross River State. The potential consequences of inaction are severe, including erosion of trust in Prince Otu's leadership and the APC stakeholders in Akamkpa. In this context, the APC stakeholders must address the perceived conflict of interest and ensure that the selection process is fair, equitable, and just. AWI WARD LACK EQUITY

Image
AWI WARD LACK EQUITY  BY MARCEL EDEM  Chief EDITOR  CROSS RIVER LIVE. The allocation of polling units in Awi Ward has raised concerns among residents of Ayeabam village. Out of 22 polling units, Ayeabam, with a population of 5,000-7,000 residents, has been allocated only one, while Nsan Awi and Obung communities share the remaining units. This disparity is striking, considering Ayeabam accounts for roughly half of the combined population of Nsan Awi and Obung. The community's lone polling unit is woefully inadequate, potentially leading to voter disenfranchisement and undermining democratic principles. The people of Ayeabam are questioning the fairness and justice that Awi Ward leaders have long advocated for. This apparent bias treatment demands scrutiny from INEC, as it contradicts the commission's mandate to ensure equal access to voting. Awi ward Lack equity, Nsan Awi and Obung's combined share of polling units disproportionately that favors them I urge INEC to:...
