 BREAKING NEWS:A comprehensive Back to School Outreach program, facilitated and sponsored by Mrs. Isabella Asuquo on behalf of the Distinguished Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, is set to commence in Akamkpa urban ward and Iko ward from Monday to Friday.

The outreach aims to support students and promote educational development and empowerment in the above communities 

This event will focus on:

1. Distribution of educational materials and resources

2. Interactive sessions on academic excellence and personal development

3. Guidance on career pathways and opportunities

This initiative underscores Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong commitment to education and youth development in Akamkpa Local Government Area.

COURT DECLARES SPECIAL ALLOWANCES LAW FOR FORMER GOV., DEP. GOV., SPEAKER, DEP. SPEAKER AS UNCONSTITUTIONAL. The Calabar Division of the Industrial Court has declared the Cross River State Special Allowances Law No. 2, 2023, for some Public Office Holders Law unconstitutional, invalid, null and void and of no effect whatsoever. Reports has it that the law stipulates special allowances to former Governors, Deputy Governors, Speakers and Deputy Speakers. According to The Beagle News, the presiding judge, Justice Sanusi Kado, in a landmark judgment with SUIT NO. NICN/CA/23/2023, delivered on December 12, 2024, restrained the Cross River State Government, Cross River State House of Assembly (CRSHA) and the Attorney General of Cross River State from implementing the provisions of the said law.
