AS INVESTIGATION CONTINUES COMMISSIONER OF WORKS SPEAKS OUT ON OGOJA COURT FIRE OUTBREAKS

Investigations into the recent fire outbreaks at the Ogoja court are ongoing, and the Commissioner of Works, *Honourable Ankpo Pius* has finally broken his silence on the matter after visiting the scene on Friday. The commissioner's statement comes amid growing concerns over the frequency and severity of the fire incidents.

According to his S.A on media, the commissioner attributed the fire outbreaks to a combination of factors, emphasizing the need for enhanced safety measures and regular maintenance of state and public facilities to prevent such incidents happening in the future.

In an interview with the commissioner, Governor Bassey Otu would rather rebuild a new structure with modern facilities in the area due to the severity and damage caused during the fire outbreak.

"We take the safety of cross Riverians and public facilities very seriously," the commissioner stated. "We will work tirelessly to ensure that all necessary measures are taken to prevent such incidents from occurring again in any government or public firms."

The commissioner's statement has been met with mixed reactions from the public, with some calling for greater accountability and others praising  Governor Bassey Otu and the commissioner's commitment to safety.

As the investigation unfolds, officials are urging residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities, safety concerns, or potential threats to government and public facilities to the relevant authorities.
